Just fresh of his KO of the night performance in Brazil at UFC Fight Night 95 he got the chance to be on the biggest card of the year, UFC 205. When Lyman Good was pulled of the card due to a potential anti-doping violation, he got the call to step up as a late replacement. Vicente didn’t need any time to think and he accepted the fight with Belal Muhammed.
It was a good call from Luque as he just needed 79 seconds to send his opponent crushing to the canvas. Another spectacular performance of the native Brazilian that is now riding a four fight win streak in one of the deepest division in the UFC. All of his four fights ended in a finish and it’s clear that the next fight should be a top 15 fighter, he deserves it.
Unfortunately Michael Johnson wasn’t able to stop the wrecking force Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Menace was doing a great job early in the fight tagging the Russian fighter but towards the end of the fight Khabib got the takedown and controlled Johnson on the ground. His wrestling was too much to handle for now but it was another learning experience for the young Johnson.
